Living in Montana, I saw plenty of animals in my day-to-day adventures. Winter is definitely the easiest time to spot them since the blank canvas of snow puts every creature on display. While I haven't seen many moose since moving here, I grew up in a place where they ran rampant. Once, I saw 22 moose within a two hour period. The tomte (santa) hat adds a silliness to make an otherwise mundane portrait cheery.
